San Diego native Melissa Tan began her acting journey by interviewing for an intern position at a full-service talent agency; the agent gave her the position and in the same breath, offered her representation.

Melissa’s diversified career as an Actress/Host spans work on-camera, in voice-over, on-stage, in print and as a corporate spokesperson. She’s been told her enthusiasm and broad comedic and dramatic range are among her strengths.  Melissa’s signature appeal blends intelligence and vulnerability. She actively seeks roles that stretch ethnic boundaries.

Favorite credits include indie films FIST 2 FIST and BALLBUSTERS for which she won the “BEST ACTRESS” award at Indie Fest USA 2009, 4 of PETCO'S HOW TO Videos, the primetime TV dramas, SAINTS & SINNERS and FASHION HOUSE, and hosting INDUSTRY RSVP IN-DEPTH & STYLE-N-HOLLYWOOD.

She has traveled the nation as a corporate presenter, representing clients such as Jaguar, Infiniti, and Nissan. Melissa has been featured in: LA Weekly, Entertainment Today, In! Magazine, Tolucan Times, San Diego Union-Tribune, San Diego Reader, North County Reader, Back Stage West and other media.

Melissa was educated at the University of California, San Diego where she received her B.A. in Sociology, with double minors in Theatre and Ethnic Studies. The substitute teacher, conversational English teacher, mystery shopper, bus driver, and (surprise!) food server, feels it is a pleasure and her duty to contribute to positive change.  Melissa has a passion for empowering others and has served on the boards of non-profit organizations, one dedicated to fostering new artists, and for Silayan Filipina National Organization, which focuses on community service, outreach and cultivating the Filipino culture. She has volunteered for various programs geared towards aiding at-risk youth through the arts, and in her youth served as a Keywanette Lieutenant Governor.

Melissa is enjoying a second childhood with her son, and describes herself as a foodie, an avid traveler, a voracious bookworm and an unrepentant bargain hunter.

Among Melissa’s proudest accomplishments:
Putting herself through University in less than four years.
Climbing Japan’s Mt. Fuji - Elevation: 3,776 meters / 12,388 feet.
Traveling to 5 continents, so far.
Completing the San Francisco Rock n Roll Half Marathon
And above all, becoming a mother – the role of her lifetime.
